Algorfa is a small inland village in the Vega Baja with a working Spanish centre, and attached to it is La Finca Golf — a resort development of villas, townhouses and apartments built around the course. The two are effectively different markets. The village is Spanish, older housing, tiled throughout. La Finca is resort-standard property, much of it second homes or lets, a lot of it owned from the UK and Ireland.
Golf resort property brings the specific problem we see across every course on this coast: iron sulphate. Spanish greens are treated with it through the summer to harden the grass, and it comes into the house on shoes and trolley wheels. It oxidises in carpet fibre and leaves rust-coloured marks on anything pale, and it gets worse rather than better if attacked with the wrong product. It is entirely treatable with the right chemistry. Do not put a supermarket stain remover on it first.
Course sand from the bunkers comes in with it — drier and finer than beach sand, and it settles to the base of the pile where it abrades the fibre from below.
A large share of La Finca is owned by people who are not in Spain most of the year, which makes key-holder working the default here rather than the exception. We collect keys from your key holder, agent or property manager, photograph on arrival and on completion, send the images to you on WhatsApp and return the keys. You settle by bank transfer once you have seen them — nothing is ever paid up front.
For owners letting the property, changeovers run at €75 for a two-bed and €105 for a three-bed with terrace, including linen change, restock check and the full photo report. For owners flying in, the pre-arrival package — deep clean plus mattresses plus sofa, two or three days before you land — is the one worth booking.
