Guardamar sits north of Torrevieja at the mouth of the Segura, and it is defined by something no other town on this coast has: a forest planted deliberately, in the late nineteenth century, to stop the dunes burying the town. More than a million trees went in. Today it is a huge pine and eucalyptus belt between the town and eleven kilometres of beach, and it is genuinely one of the most pleasant places on the Costa Blanca to live.
It also means Guardamar properties get a double load that nowhere else does. Beach sand, in the quantities you would expect next to dunes that had to be forested to control them. And pine — needles, and more importantly resin, which is not water-soluble and does not respond to normal cleaning. Resin marks on carpet, on outdoor furniture and on car paint are a routine Guardamar job for us and they need a solvent-stage pre-treatment before extraction.
Guardamar is also a more Spanish town than Torrevieja or the Orihuela Costa — a real town centre, a proper market, and a smaller though growing British and Irish community. We work in English throughout, which is harder to find here than further south.
Three distinct property types. The town centre is older Spanish apartment blocks, tiled throughout, rugs rather than fitted carpet, and often no lift — which costs nothing extra with us because our hoses run from the van rather than us carrying machines upstairs.
The beachside blocks along the front take the salt and the sand and behave like any other seafront property: moisture held in sofa cushions and mattresses, and the musty smell that follows a shut-up winter.
Inland and towards El Raso and the urbanisations, you get bungalows and villas with driveways — which makes mobile car valeting straightforward, since we work on the car exactly where it is parked with our own water and power.

Pine resin from the forest belt. It is not water-soluble so ordinary washing does nothing, and left on car paint through a summer it etches the clearcoat. It needs a solvent-stage treatment, which is included in our standard prices.
