Los Altos sits on the higher ground at the southern end of Torrevieja, running into Los Balcones, with views across the salt lagoons. The housing is villas, townhouses and larger bungalows on bigger plots, mostly permanent residents, and the properties tend to be larger than the Torrevieja average.
Elevation and open aspect mean more wind, and more wind means considerably more airborne particulate reaching the property. Two sources dominate: dry salt-laden dust lifting off Las Salinas in windy weather, and Saharan calima, which hits exposed high ground harder than sheltered streets. Los Altos terraces need washing down more often than anywhere else we work, and interiors accumulate a gritty film on hard floors noticeably faster.
That grit is not just cosmetic. Salt and mineral particulate walked across tile acts as an abrasive and dulls polished and terrazzo floors over time. It is also why cars parked outside up here need a proper contact wash rather than a wipe-over — dragging a cloth across that film puts fine scratches straight into the clearcoat.
A Los Altos villa is a full-day job. A three-bedroom deep clean starts at €195 and runs seven to eight hours with two cleaners; four bedrooms and up we quote individually rather than pretending a list price fits.
The most efficient way to do a property this size is to combine. A typical Los Altos booking is a deep clean plus three or four mattresses plus two sofas plus terrace furniture, all in one visit. Because it is one set-up rather than four, the multi-service discount is real rather than a gimmick — 10 per cent off the total for any two services on the same visit.
Terrace and outdoor furniture is worth including here specifically. Exposed high-ground terraces take the worst of the UV and the calima, and steam cleaning brings rattan and outdoor fabric back without the pressure washing that forces water into the weave and breaks the fibres down.

Elevation. Los Altos catches wind off the salt lakes and gets hit harder by calima than the sheltered streets below. It is not something cleaning can prevent, but steam cleaning the furniture and terrace properly two or three times a year stops it building into staining.

Not with a dry cloth. The film up here is salt and mineral grit, and dragging a cloth across it puts fine scratches into the clearcoat. A proper contact wash with lubrication is 25 euros and will do less damage than a year of wiping.
